Parents and guardians of previously looked-after children (subject to an adoption, SGO or child arrangements order).
The Virtual School’s role; Educational achievement of PLAC; best practice recommendations the VS gives to school; what schools must do; the importance of building positive relationships with school; how Pupil Premium works for PLAC; information sharing and partnership working with schools; school admission arrangements; special educational needs; managing challenging behaviour in schools; promoting positive educational and recreational activities; choosing a good school.
There will also be an opportunity at the end for 1:1 information and advice.

Designated teachers of previously looked-after children (PLAC).
Please note that the content of this session will be covered in general DT training next academic year. This specific session is offered, however, due to DT request. Covered content: the educational achievement of PLAC; understanding PLAC status; specific PLAC key issues; specific strategies for PLAC; pupil premium plus for PLAC; school admissions; external support. Also note that this session does not consider strategies that are covered in the training for lac in order to avoid duplication.
