Our Adoption Service keeps the benefits to children and adopter led services at the heart of all activities. 

We are seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced staff that have the necessary drive and passion to realise all the opportunities adoption can bring for children.

This team undertakes assessments of potential adopters and supports them through the process of adopting a child and/or children. Social workers in this team co-work cases with the childcare teams throughout proceedings driving permanency work and take full responsibility for the case when the child becomes subject of a Placement Order. The team also supports adopted children, their adoptive parents and special guardians and the children in their care.

What does the job involve?

To deliver and provide social work services, at a level appropriate for a professionally qualified post, to young people and families to ensure the welfare of children and young people is safeguarded and they are protected in accordance with the legal and statutory obligations of Northamptonshire County Council.
