Community-based care planning teams complete work with children who are subject to child protection plans, child-in-need plans and care proceedings.
There are fourteen safeguarding teams across Northamptonshire with flexible working arrangements supported across the county. The exciting new operating model being implemented from 1 August will enable the safeguarding teams to really focus on creative problem solving and keeping children and families together.
Signs of safety strengths based approaches led by our principal social worker supports excellent social work practice and is further supported by our dedicated and experienced consultant social workers and business support. Each team has a team manager, six social workers and one newly qualified social worker with average caseloads of eighteen.
The work includes children in need, child protection; PLO and care proceedings until the granting of an Interim Care Order or S.20 four month review. A dedicated case progression manager and officer will support legal proceedings and strong links with targeted support and early help will enable smooth step-down processes.
Our new integrated adolescent service going live 1 October will be a valuable resource to support the service. There is also wide range of practice developments taking place including supporting multi-agency practice in completing pre-birth and parenting assessments. Our skilled and motivated safeguarding service looks forward to you joining us on a journey of continued improvement and development.
