We have now been issued with the final judgement from the Judicial Review into our proposals for the county’s library service. This judgement quashes the decision of 13 March to close 21 libraries and move to an independent library model.
As a result we have been conducting a new review of the library service, which involves working with community groups to discuss future changes.
It is hoped a new proposal will be developed and over the coming months this will be taken to Cabinet.
The timetable for delivering any new model of library services will be dependent on future cabinet decisions and the required consultation process. No decisions have yet been made and the proposal will vary from library to library.
Further detail will be made in the future cabinet reports which will be available on our Committee Management Information System (CMIS).
