Visitors are invited to help 'light up the drill tower' at Burton Latimer Fire Station by bringing along their pumpkins to be placed on display and entered into a competition.

The event will form part of the fire station's open evening on Thursday 1 November(5pm to 8pm) at the station in Piggotts Lane.

Firefighters will fill the tower with pumpkins and the winner who has created the scariest pumpkin will win a prize.

The event will also include a raffle, stalls and refreshments as well as face painting.

Members of Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service will also use the opportunity to demonstrate lifesaving skills such as CPR and give out safety information.

Entrants into the competition are asked to donate £1, which goes to The Fire Fighters Charity.
