Run, hide, tell

Metropolitan Police have launched a campaign to ‘run, hide, tell’ in the event of a weapons or firearms attack.

You must:

  • RUN - to a place of safety. This is a better option than to surrender or negotiate.
  • If there’s nowhere to go then HIDE – Turn your phone to silent and off vibrate. Barricade yourself in if you can.
  • TELL - the police by calling 999 when it is safe to do so.

A full leaflet of this public guidance is on the Gov.UK website.

Information is vital. If you see or hear something that could be terrorist related, trust your instincts and call the confidential Anti-Terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321 or visit the Metropolitan Police website to report possible terrorist activity. In any emergency you must dial 999.
