Proposed changes to Northamptonshire County Council’s senior management structure would lead to significant savings, according to a report published today (THURS)
A paper to be discussed at a meeting of full council next week (13 May) recommends the appointment of Dr Paul Blantern as chief executive for a minimum of six months.
Dr Blantern is currently the council’s corporate director of customer and community services. The paper proposes not to fill the corporate director position and outlines how his current management functions will be redistributed should full council approve the appointment.
The proposals if approved will result in over £200k savings.
Dr Blantern’s appointment to the position of chief executive has been recommended by an appointments committee made up of Conservative, Liberal Democrat and Labour councillors.
The report to full council can be viewed in the council's cabinet paper section.
