Northamptonshire County Council’s gritting crews treated the precautionary network today at 10:00 a.m. to keep the county’s major routes clear.
The snowdesk is still in operation, and crews have today also been out replenishing grit bins where necessary.
With air temperatures overnight set to drop to minus 8C and road temperatures due to fall to minus 10C, gritting crews will travel out at 7:00 p.m. this evening to carry out another precautionary gritting.
This evening, snow showers should become isolated, and generally confined to northern parts of the county. They should die out by about midnight leaving the remainder of the night dry and very cold with clear spells.
The county council’s website has the gritting routes shown and advice for drivers and pedestrians.
