Over the forthcoming festive season Northamptonshire County Council will not be carrying out on-street parking enforcement on Christmas Day and New Years Day.

On Boxing Day, December 27 and January 2, Bank Holiday parking regulations will apply with the usual restrictions in place on all other days.

A spokesman for the county council said: “We’re letting people know in advance what we’ll be doing over the Christmas period so they can be clear where they stand.

“Although restrictions have been lifted on two days it’s still important that people park sensibly so that they aren’t causing an obstruction as this could hinder other motorists including the emergency services.”

Northamptonshire County Council is responsible for parking enforcement in the following areas:

  • Northampton Borough
  • Borough of Wellingborough
  • Corby
  • South Northamptonshire
  • East Northamptonshire

Bank Holiday on-street enforcement is single and double yellow lines and disabled bays - all pay & display bays are free and permits are not enforceable on bank holidays.
