Job Club Xtra will take place at Northamptonshire County Council’s Central Library in Northampton this Friday (25th May).
The job fair will start at 10am and finish at the new time of 1pm and is aimed at anyone looking for work or career advice and support.
Regular exhibitors include Options 2, who can help with CV writing and interview skills, Citizens Advice Bureau, who offer free computer training as well as representatives from the library service and University of Northampton, who will offer business start-up advice. Job Centre Plus will also attend with their latest vacancies.
Different local employers are invited to attend each event. This month’s job fair includes Adecco Recruitment which has various roles available, the Territorial Army, which is looking for part-time staff and Home Instead, a care staff employer.
From May, Job Club Xtra will take place every other month to ensure a good selection of employers and organisations are always available to the public. The future dates are 27th July, 28th September and 30th November, all from 10am to 1pm.
Councillor Heather Smith, cabinet member for customer services said: “Libraries have a vital role in supporting people during these difficult financial times. Job Club Xtra is a chance for real employers to meet potential new employees and for people in the county to learn about any opportunities that might be available to them."
The usual job club also takes place at Northampton Central Library every Friday. People can drop in between 10am and 1pm to talk to a careers advisor or use the computers free of charge.
Other job clubs take place in libraries around the county. For more information, please call Sara Kennedy on 01604 361460 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
