People will have the chance to talk to Northamptonshire County Council library and customer service managers during a series of meet the manager sessions.

Customer and library service manager Grace Kempster will be visiting over the coming months to find out what people think about the services provided. Grace will be looking for feedback about recent developments in libraries such as the improved support for jobseekers and local businesses, digital signage and e-books.

Also in January, the council’s customer service centre manager Leanne Hanwell will be visiting alongside Grace. The team in the customer service centre receive around 5,000 calls a week from Northamptonshire’s residents so Leanne will be finding out people’s experiences of contacting the council.

The sessions will take place as follows:

Saturday 12th January

  • Central Library 10am to 11am
  • Abington Library 12pm to 1pm
  • Weston Favell Library 2pm to 3pm
  • Hunsbury Library 4pm to 5pm

Saturday 26th January

  • Corby Library 10am to 11am
  • Kettering Library 12pm to 1pm
  • Wellingborough Library 2pm to 3pm

Saturday 9th February

  • Deanshanger Library 10am to 11am
  • Towcester Library 12pm to 1pm
  • Brackley Library 2pm to 3pm
  • Daventry Library 4pm to 5pm

Visits to the remaining libraries will be planned for later this year.

Cabinet member for customer and community services Councillor Heather Smith said: “These sessions are a good opportunity for customers to tell us their experiences of contacting the council and visiting libraries. It’s also a useful way for us to get their feedback about services as well as promote recent developments and raise awareness of improvements we have made, such as the introduction of Sunday opening in all 36 libraries.

“We’ve held similar sessions in the past and the feedback we received resulted in actions to change and improve the service so please drop by and give us your thoughts.”
