Northamptonshire County Council’s fostering pop-up shop will visit Kettering this weekend as part of its summer tour.

Foster carers and social workers are travelling the county this summer so that members of the public can find out more about fostering over a chat and a cup of coffee.

The pop-up shop will be in Kettering on Saturday 24 August in the former Jessops shop on Gold Street. It will be open from 10am till 4pm.

Why are more foster carers needed?

With approximately 760 children in care and 215 foster families the council wants to recruit more foster carers to increase the chances of a child in care staying in their local area and to avoid having to use agency placements that could see them living away from their local community.

Foster carers are paid a weekly allowance and receive a full training package.
