Northamptonshire County Council is advising bus passengers of upcoming diversions as a result of highways works currently underway at Northampton rail station.

What is happening?

From 22 July, most buses coming into Northampton town centre from the west will need to be diverted to avoid highways works taking place around the new station development.

Temporary bus stops will be available and in some cases the diversions will result in new timetables.

The diversions are likely to be in place for four months.

Which bus routes are affected?

The diversions will affect the following bus services:

  • 3
  • 5
  • 9/9A/9B
  • 12
  • Uno service 19
  • 22/22A
  • 50/50A
  • 96
  • D1/D2/D3

Travel between the train station and the town centre

There will continue to be a bus connection to the town centre for anyone arriving by train. Services 12, 19 and 22 will provide ten buses per hour operating between the temporary stops on Westbridge and the bus station.
