Almost 30 young people and groups have been shortlisted for Northamptonshire County Council’s Youth Ambition Awards 2015.

The awards are held in partnership with Connexions and recognise some of the fantastic achievements of young unsung heroes across Northamptonshire.

Around 75 nominations were received for this year’s third Youth Ambition Awards, which are run alongside Northamptonshire Newspapers’ Education Awards.

The winners will be announced at a special awards evening on Wednesday 8th July at Wicksteed Park Pavilion.

County council deputy leader Cllr Heather Smith said: “Our Youth Ambition Awards are a wonderful way for us to showcase some of the incredible things being done by young people all over Northamptonshire.

“We were overwhelmed by many of the nominations we received and it was harder than ever this year to narrow down the entries to create a shortlist.

“I’m very much looking forward to meeting our finalists at the awards evening on July 8th and I’d like to wish everyone the best of luck.”
