Walkers taking part in Northamptonshire County Council’s 20 Million Steps weekend are being invited to share their photos for the chance to win a GoPro camera.
The 20 Million Steps weekend will take place from September 18th to 20th and the county council is asking people to go for a walk over the weekend and record how many steps they take.
During last year’s inaugural event, residents across the county clocked up a massive 24,177,082 steps with 7,000 people taking part.
People are being invited to take a photograph while out walking in Northamptonshire and share it via Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #20msteps. Photographs will be automatically entered into the competition to win a GoPro Hero camera.
Pictures can also be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Photos will then be shared online and people will be able to vote for their favourite to win the GoPro camera.
Cllr Robin Brown, county council cabinet member for public health and wellbeing, said: “Northamptonshire has some beautiful countryside and some stunning scenery, so we’re looking forward to seeing some wonderful shots from people taking part in our 20 Million Steps weekend.
“Whether you’re heading to one of our country parks or simply walking around your own village or neighbourhood, we want to see your photos. So get snapping!”
The deadline for submitting your photographs is 5pm on Monday 21st September 2015.
