People across Northamptonshire are being offered the chance to broaden their horizons with the launch of the new adult learning brochure by Northamptonshire County Council.

The new programme includes languages, health and beauty, crafts, sports, music and cookery with courses ranging from standalone one-day classes to 12-week programmes. Language courses now include the chance to gain a qualification.

Courses are available from September to March and take place at local venues across Northamptonshire.

New this term

New courses for this term include:

  • Archaeology of Medieval Britain
  • Practical astronomy
  • Cake decoration – figure modelling
  • Vintage home crafts
  • Jewellery for beginners
  • Getting to grips with grammar
  • Fitness and healthy eating for beginners
  • Shaping and pruning in the garden
  • Using social media for business

Cllr Matthew Golby, cabinet member for children, families and learning, said: “Our new adult learning brochure has a vast range of courses on offer, so I’m certain everyone will find something to inspire them. From earning a new qualification to starting a new hobby, there’s a class to suit all ages and skill sets.

“It’s also a great way to meet new people, so I’d encourage everyone to look a look at the new prospectus and find out what’s available.”

People can find out more about courses and enrol by booking online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by visiting www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/adultlearning. Internet access is available at all Northamptonshire libraries.
